DAVID R. SOBEL of Alexandria mediates Professional Liability (Medical Malpractice) and PI cases.

About David R. Sobel:

David, a Louisiana-licensed attorney based in Alexandria, conducts mediations statewide through Sobel Law Mediation. Plaintiffs and defense attorneys who had previously litigated with David were the first to retain him to mediate their malpractice and personal injury cases. They sought a mediator who thoroughly understood the nuances of these claims from both legal and tactical perspectives. David now devotes his practice exclusively to serving as a neutral, with a particular focus on professional liability and personal injury claims.

David's litigation practice had primarily focused on defending professional liability and malpractice claims brought against physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare providers, as well as attorneys, accountants, and architects. Additionally, he has mediated or tried cases involving premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, products liability, and land expropriation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants.

After graduating from law school in 1986, David practiced in Alexandria at Provosty, Sadler, deLaunay, Fiorenza & Sobel for 30 years. He became the firm's first new named partner since 1969 and served as firm president. In 2016, he joined Faircloth Melton Sobel & Bash, LLC in Alexandria as a named partner and practiced there until retiring from litigation in 2024.

In January 2025, David was appointed as an Adjunct Professor at Tulane University School of Law, where he teaches Trial Advocacy.
